Angie Maidment, O.T. Reg. (MB)

Ang (aka Angie/Angela) has worked as an Occupational Therapist for over 30 years in Canada and the United States.

Ang is passionate about supporting individuals with acquired spinal cord injuries to live as independently and productively as possible in their homes and communities. Throughout her career, she has been a leading voice in Manitoba in the development of seating and mobility community programs and evidence-based education for therapists.

She co-developed the outcome measurement tool, SMART Seating Goals, has taught Seating for Special Populations, and facilitated OT Across the Lifespan in the University of Manitoba’s Master of Occupational Therapy program. Ang is also the co-founder of the Prairie Seating Workshop, an initiative that continues to provide therapists from US and Canada with education, collaboration, and trade show opportunities related to seating and mobility practices.

Outside of work, Angie is the Canadian representative for the International Surfing Association, as a Parasurf Classifier and volunteers with organizations such as the Hawai’i Adaptive Surfing Championships, Access Surf and Surfrider. She enjoys playing soccer, surfing, cheering for the Blue Bombers, Jets, Bisons, and the Beach Bows, and is a proud mom to a beach volleyball player (and law student) and wife to a successful coach.
